It’s kinda strange.
Being skinny never really bothered me.
Perhaps cuz like most high school teens I tended to live out of my own fantasy world.
But in the REAL world I weighed a measly 135 lbs.
As in, one strong gust of wind or a misdirected sneeze and gumby would go bye bye!
A few years after college I had reached the all-massive sum of 160.
At 5’ 9” that combo doesn’t quite equal a masculine muscular frame.
Like most guys, I was hitting the gym.
Eating right.
But the scale stubbornly refused to budge.
That is, until I focused on what I discovered to be the deciding factor in building a hard Spartan physique.
Once I turned my attention to this the scale shot up and CLEAN muscle mass begin packing on.
Surprisingly enough it WASN’T:
Nutrition
Some special exercise or
Motivation
It even trumps genetics and family health history.
Yes, all those are important, but they’re not the essential ingredient.
What is it then?
STRENGTH.
The stronger you get, the more everything else falls into place.
Muscle balance improves, aches & pains fade away and it’s muchhh easier to gain lean muscle (plus burn off fat).
Side effects include bulletproof confidence, boosted energy levels, deeper relationships and greater stress management… to name a few.
Your strength literally is the tide that raises all ships in life.
As the focal point of your training it will accelerate your gains faster than you ever imagined.
And with less time required.
A true win-win.
Just don’t be like most guys who rush out and try to lift the heaviest they can, sacrificing form.
Or they start doing 1-5 reps because that is the ‘strength’ range.
Or they try complex workout routines because they think they can “shock” their muscles into growth.
But I teach the opposite of that.
