V. Spartegrity

Integrity means being honest and having strong moral principles.

Spartegrity is very similar.

A modern Spartan is 100% honest with HIMSELF and his shortcomings because he truly desires growth and improvement.

He knows his personal worth as a human being is unshakable and completely independent of his current physical stature, financial earnings, girlfriend /wife status or anything else in his life.  Only through this separation of his personal worth from everything else is he able to receive guidance on how to grow.

So why do I think this is so important?

Well if you lack Spartegrity, you can’t be honest with yourself and if you can’t be honest it’s going to be really hard to improve your body for the better.

Let’s take a real life example.

Let’s say you have an ailment but you’re nervous about going to the doctor.

Maybe you don’t want to hear what he has to say.  Will you need surgery or maybe some scary series of tests to find out what’s going on?  Finally one day you work up the courage to go see the doctor, but when you get there you don’t tell him exactly what’s going on because you’re afraid.  Do you think the doctor is going to truly be able to help you?  Of course not! He needs you to tell him the truth, so he gets the full picture of your health.  Only then can he make a proper diagnosis and prescribe the right treatment.

It’s no different with your own life.  If you can’t be honest about your shortcomings it’s impossible to improve them.

Why can’t some guys be honest with themselves?

There is a reason and the good news is that with my help you can root it out.

The reason we’re not honest with ourselves is because we sometimes fail to separate our personal worth as a human being from our physical status (i.e. the shape we’re in, how good looking we are, etc.)

After all, the media bombards us with a self worth linked to our physical state.  I’m here to tell you that your physical status has no bearing on your value as a person.  Just because you may be out of shape doesn’t mean you’re less of a person.  But because some guys link their self worth to their physical state they don’t get the advice they need because admitting they’re out of shape means, in their mind, they’re less of a person.  It’s too much for them to handle.  The rejection of one causes them to reject the other.  Some guys will even shut down because they have to admit to themselves they are out of shape.  It’s crazy but it happens and if that describes you, you need to break the link.  Maybe you are out of shape but it has no bearing on what kind of person you are.   Once you break this link you will start to make progress.

I can give you a real personal example from my life.

A while ago I decided to learn to dance by taking some dancing lessons.

Now I have to tell you I have no sense of rhythm and I’m not musically inclined either so this was really tough for me.  Think Tin-Man on the dance floor.

When I see other guys who are better dancers than me it would be easy to tie my sense of self worth to my dancing ability because I feel I have two left feet.  But just because I was awful at dancing didn’t mean that I was an awful person.

I was able to distance the two, accept the coaching that I received and ultimately improve my dancing ability.  Now I get compliments everytime I go out and ladies line up for a dance. Not too shabby.

As soon as you can distance your self-worth from any of your shortcomings you are going to make leaps and bounds with anything new that you starting.

The same thing happens with income.

Guys often tie their sense of self worth to the amount of money they make and how it compares to those around them.

They have their value linked to income so when they see someone making more than them, they feel that the other person is more worthwhile than they are.

The same even goes with physical appearance of another guy.

Maybe it’s the guy that you see at the gym that’s ripped.  If the guy is in good shape, maybe there is stuff you can learn from him and if you break the chain of self worth from your own physical shape, you might find that you can be open to any advice he may offer resulting in progress.

It’s the same with fitness.  As soon as you break the link between your self-worth and your physical condition, you can open yourself up to ask for help.

When you are able to do that you will start to see progress, the progress that A Spartan Body Blueprint will give you.

I’ve given these examples in hope that one of these will resonate with you.  Remember be honest with yourself and don’t connect your self-worth to you physical state.

You’ll begin to feel better about yourself and move down the path of real progress – the progress of a sleek, ripped Spartan like physique as taught in A Spartan Rises.

And remember, never retreat never surrender and keep moving forward

I. The Spartan Body Blueprint

Welcome to “The Spartan Body Blueprint”!

In this series I’m going to begin to introduce you to a way of life that will make you a stronger, more confident and happier man.

I’m not talking about fads, crazes, reps, sets, goofy diets or garbage like that.

Transforming your physique is a journey.

It’s not a one-time piece of advice to try.

If you don’t think you can follow steps and be patient with yourself, then this site probably isn’t for you.

This isn’t a quick fix or an “all ya gotta do is” kind of thing.

But that’s why it works.

You’re going to learn that much of what I teach you at Sparta Strength is as applicable to life as it is to fitness.

You’re going to learn to focus on what you can change in your life.

You’re the only one responsible for you so let’s concentrate on what YOU can do to change yourself and forget all the other stuff.

Second, in order for you to succeed with this body transformation you need desire.

A desire to change your current results.  A desire to put the past behind you, to take matters into your own hands and make it work.  A desire that’s gonna tell your body that you’re in control and that you’re going to decide how you look in the mirror.  You’re the one that going to make this thing work.  It’s just a matter of learning how to do things properly to get to the destination you want to get to.

If you don’t have the desire to improve your life you may as well stop reading and I’ll save my breath for someone who wants it, for someone who says bring it man I’m ready.

Third – you need to be able to follow a blueprint.

A blueprint that I’ve put together to make it simple to follow, but still a blueprint that requires attention in order to get results.

I’m guessing you’ve worked out before.

You’ve probably followed various routines you found in a magazine or online.

Maybe it was in a popular muscle magazine and the guy in the pictures is ripped with huge biceps and you’re thinking if I do what this article tells me, someday I’ll look like him.  Well I’ve got a newsflash for you – you’re probably not going to get where he is by just following an exercise routine from a magazine.  If it were that easy, every guy who’s ever lifted a weight in his life would look like that guy.  Those guys in the magazines have a whole lot of other stuff going on.  Not saying it’s bad, it’s just not particularly applicable to the average guy.  They spend way more time than you probably can or even want to, to get there.  Maybe you’ve even used a trainer.  All good stuff right, but if your trainer didn’t do some of the things I’m going to tell you about in this Blueprint then I’m willing to bet you weren’t satisfied with your results.  Blueprints provide a systematic way to show how something gets built much like the one a builder uses one to build a house.

Okay, if you’re still good, then we’ll move into the next series of articles that explain more about what this is all about.  I like to think about it as the magic of simplicity.

One of the first things you’re going to learn about my philosophy is that it’s relatively simple.

Simple concept number 1 – work out about 5 hours a week.  No more than five days  & no more than an hour!
